The only users this MAY be attractive to is a brand new user of the Office Suite (and how many of those are there, really). I will use the program for the classes and I know I will be fine with it, but it doesn't hold a candle to Excel 2003.The one lone exception is that I actually do like Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager better than Outlook 2003. Fortunately Outlook 2007 works beautifully with the rest of Office 2003 so that is the configuration I am using for everything except school.I've never looked seriously at Open Office, but it may be time to give it a peek if Microsoft wants to bully us into using their much more difficult user interface. I am an accounting student and I have a couple of spreadsheet courses that are requiring Excel 2007.
MS is ripe for a fall if only someone else can give us what we need and want. MS thinks they are the only game in town, but this is still a free enterprise system. This is a great opportunity for Corel or some other vendor to make a play to steal marketshare. In case our point hasn't been made clearly enough, let me spell it out here.WE HATE THE RIBBON. I don't care how many promo videos you create your website or how many tutorials there are, this thing is a complete travesty. In short, we know how to get our work done efficiently with the drop down menu interface.I unfortunately had to purchase an academic version of this software, however I only paid about $70 for the ultimate version. However I will be finished with the accounting courses before 2010 is release and unless Microsoft takes us seriously and provides and option for using either the old interface or the ribbon, I will NOT be upgrading to 2010.with the exception of possibly Outlook.
I'd seriously suggest that some of you developers out there jump on this opportunity. Microsoft has heard the complaints of their experienced, and I might add - faithful, Office users and yet the continue to ignore us. For the rest of us, we have be using this suite for over a decade, know the keyboard shortcuts, know how to find the tools we need on the menus we are familiar with, etc. I've been a Microsoft customer ever since I've used a PC.going on 15 years now, and I can't even remember all the dollars I've lined their pockets with over the years, but I'm one customer who may has become dissatisfied and I am seriously considering my options.
This is an enterprise version, was not able to register one note , to many keys submitted.seller never got back to me after I wrote Amazon suspecting it was piracy. so beware, for the price, works fine, can't imagine if i have to reinstall, probably wont be able.
They have done nothing to even extend the offer to those who just spent over $200.00 more with no upgrade. Amazon has taken advantage of their customers. I purchased product the 1st of February 2010 for 571.00 now amazon has it for 362.00 and a free 2010 upgrade. Feels like robbery to me, last time I ever use Amazon.
it would not install - I found out that Microsoft does not sell it except by download anymore- returned for full credit thank you
I have always been a fan of the chipmunks. Disk was in perfect condition, and I will gladly purchase from them again
